Standard flexible graphite yarn is an industrial sealing material made from high-purity expanded graphite as the core raw material, processed through a special manufacturing process. It typically uses high-strength fibers (such as aramid, fiberglass or PTFE fiber) as the reinforcing skeleton. The graphite fibers and reinforcing fibers are tightly combined by twisting or braiding to form a highly flexible yarn structure.
The product offers excellent self-lubrication, superior thermal conductivity and outstanding chemical stability. Its flexible structure adapts extremely well to micro-irregularities on the shaft journal surface, effectively lowering the friction coefficient during sealing, reducing wear on the shaft or shaft sleeve, thereby extending equipment service life and reducing maintenance frequency.
Applications / Fields of Use
This product is widely used for rotary shaft sealing, reciprocating shaft sealing and valve packing sealing. Typical applications include:
- Fluid media: water, steam, oils, chemically corrosive media, weak acids and weak alkalis, etc.
- Equipment: centrifugal pumps, water pumps, agitators, compressors, valve packings, pump shaft seals, etc.
